The history of portraiture is rich and extensive. Kings and nobles have commissioned the artist for hundreds of years to capture both their essence and their face on linen. My work is to combine portraits and the medium of collage, assembling an image of not only the subject's face, but their essence as well. This is done by integrating meaningful items supplied by the participant. Each clipping of paper, each paint stroke and memento shares the story about the one whose eyes peer out of the surface. The space where the face dwells is filled with memories wrapped in color and pencil. Learn more at collage-portraits.com.
